I am a Information Technology consultant by heart, wherever I go there is always a different issue I need to resolve. Sometime it will take a couple of minutes to resolve and worst is days to find out a resolution or alternative solutions.

Well today is a special day, it took a while for me to remember on how to uninstall the Symantec Antivirus corporate edition. I've done this many times helping local administrator that took a responsibility from a former administrator without a proper documentation.

So this is my simple step-by-step guide on how to acccomplish this task:

• Click Start, Run regedit [Enter] to open registry.
• In Registry Editor, follow this path: HKEY+LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\INTEL\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\Administrator Only\Security\
• Look for useVPuninstallpassword and change the value from 1 to 0
• Close the registry editor
• Now uninstall the software

After this task, the workstation will ask to restart the computer.
