Morning Whale Watch

Posted by EM@KING.NET

During this two-hour whale watch, the Teralani searches for the Pacific humpback whale. Each winter, the Pacific humpback whale migrates from Alaska to the waters off the coast of Maui. These "gentle giants" are one of Maui's most prized visitors with their spectacular breaching and tail slapping. A marine naturalist is onboard to offer insights and education on the humpback whale. ...

This is good news to all AT&T/Cingular Mobile Phone users (I am one of them). I've got this information today from Cellular-News.com website regarding the improvement of Washington DC Underground Railway. I think this is about time. I have 30-45 minutes dead coverage (or worst when we are using a single track) when I ride the Metro here in Vienna going to Washington DC and vice versa.

"Mobile phone coverage on the Washington metro railway is to be improved following a decision last week by the Metro’s Board. Four major cell phone companies -- Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel, AT&T and T-Mobile -- will build a new wireless infrastructure in the underground rail system during the next four years." (2009, Cellular-News.com)

According to the website, twenty of the busiest underground rail stations (I hope including Orange track) will have expanded cell phone service (coverage) by the end of this year and the entire rail system will be equipped by 2012.

I guess there is a light at the end of the tunnel. :)
Cheers for now,

Now you have the T-Mobile G1, congratulation to you.

How to configure T-Mobile G1 for your Exchange Server 2003/3007 e-mail?
The T-Mobile G1 phone can receive messages from your POP3 or IMAP e-mail. For Exchange Server, you need to activate your IMAP protocol. I highly recommend using secure-IMAP configuration to offer higher security while reading your e-mail using public access.

This is a simple step-by-step procedure to accomplish this task.

Add e-mail account:
1. On the Home screen, touch the Application button.
2. Touch Email. The Email setup screen appears guiding you through the process.
3. Select the IMAP to setup your Exchange Server.
4. Input your email account information e.g. email address and password, click on Manual setup.

Incoming Connection
Username: kingnet/johndoe ; where kingnet is my exchange domain and johndoe is my username.
Password: your password
IMAP Server: mail.king.net ; this is my exchange email server.
Port: 993
Security Type: select SSL (always); using the default port 993 for secure IMAP protocol. You need to make sure that port 993 is enable to your firewall. Contact your system or network administrator for assistance.
Click on Next.
Checking incoming server settings ... If successful, you will then configure the Outgoing Connection.

Other information will be automatically preview by G1, check consistency of information compare to you exchange server.

5. Email Checking Frequency
With T-Mobile you can choose to select every 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 15 minutes.

6. Your account is set up, and email is on its way!
Name: em @ king.net ; this is just an example, you can use your actual name or email address if you are configuring more e-mails.

After this setup, you should be able to see your emails coming for you.

Test sending email using your T-Mobile G1 phone:
On the Home screen, touch the Application button.
Touch Email. If this is the only e-mail account, it will shows the messages right away.
Press Menu to give you the option to Refresh, Compose, Accounts and Accout Settings.
Choose  or Press Compose
In Compose screen, type the recipient address To:, Subject: and your message.
Then press Send to deliver.

Press Menu, Refresh to see if you have new e-mails.

That's for now. Post your comment here.

Sprint Broadband service is a must for every IT Consultant, Domain Name Investors, Entrepreneurs, Business man or just a mobile user. I consider myself as one of the mobile user that can't function without Internet access. The installation is straight forward setup, all new devices or hardware should be done like that. All I need to do is insert the Sprint USB to my laptop, follow the default installation. My test machine that runs Windows XP operating system automatically detected a new device and install the right software to setup my Sprint broadband. Restart my workstation, the Sprint software have asked me to automatically configure my connection. Of course, I choose yes to automatically configure my connection setup. Viola ... I'm surfing the net.

Next, check my bandwidth speed. I've used bandwidthplace.com free service to give me the test result. I've got 864.44 kilobits per second. Not bad.
